How to Keep Your Bouquets Fresh During the Holidays
Share
The holidays are a magical time for flowers, but the cold weather and festive chaos can make it challenging to keep bouquets looking their best. At our shop, we always start by thinking about where the flowers will live. Keeping bouquets away from drafts, heaters, or direct sunlight helps them stay fresh longer. Cooler rooms are your flowers’ best friend during the winter months.
We also recommend changing the water every day or two and trimming stems at an angle before placing them back in the vase. This small step makes a big difference in hydration and overall longevity. We often add a bit of floral preservative to the water — if you don’t have one, a simple mix of sugar, lemon juice, and a few drops of bleach works well too.
Finally, we love adding seasonal greenery like pine, eucalyptus, or cedar. Not only does it add texture and depth, but it also provides extra support for more delicate blooms. Follow these tips, and your holiday bouquets will stay vibrant all season long.
