Common Flower Care Mistakes and How to Avoid Them

Common Flower Care Mistakes and How to Avoid Them

Even experienced flower lovers sometimes make mistakes that shorten the life of their bouquets. Over the years, we’ve seen the same few errors pop up repeatedly, and we want to help you avoid them.

One common mistake is not trimming stems before placing flowers in water. We always advise cutting 1–2 inches at an angle to improve water absorption. Another issue is using dirty vases or old water, which can quickly lead to wilting. Fresh, clean water makes all the difference.

Overcrowding arrangements is another pitfall. Flowers need air circulation to stay healthy, so we recommend spacing stems evenly. And finally, exposure to extreme temperatures can shorten flower life. We encourage clients to keep bouquets away from heaters, drafts, and direct sunlight.

By avoiding these mistakes and following our tips, your arrangements will remain beautiful for longer.
